Compete North East - Collaborate, Compete and Win more contracts

Contract win will help leave lasting Olympic legacy

HART DOOR SYSTEMS looks set to be a real Olympic success story as the Newcastle based company announces another London2012 contract win. The company has now been awarded an 18 month contract to service and maintain the shutter doors for the Olympic Stadium.

Alan Richardson, contracts manager at Hart Door Systems said: “We are delighted to have been successful in being awarded this 18-month contract. We see service and maintenance playing an increasing part in future activities and as a result we are actively recruiting to expand the team across the UK.”

The company has been one of the region’s biggest winners of Olympic contracts. In April the firm supplied and fitted all the fire and security shutters at the Olympic Stadium. It’s these shutters that Hart Door Systems will be maintaining as part of the new contract win.

Advising the firm on bidding for Olympic work has been Compete North East. Operated by the Business & Enterprise Group, Compete North East provides the region’s businesses with support and assistance to help win public and private sector contracts.

Hart Door Systems approached Compete North East after winning their initial Olympic contract. Alan Richardson and other members of the Hart Doors team attended a number of workshops and received advice on completing the tender process.

Alan said; “The advice and support we received from Compete North East has been invaluable. This new contract win demonstrates the continued benefit of their support”

Paul Taylor, head of business engagement for Compete North East, said: “So many North East firms have benefited from the Olympics and many with the help of Compete North East. The procurement process isn’t completed yet and there are a number of London2012 contracts still to be awarded.”
