Compete North East - Collaborate, Compete and Win more contracts

£10 Million Worth Of Contract Opportunities Available To Businesses in the North East

Businesses are being given the opportunity to access up to a further £10 million worth of supply chain opportunities as Tristar Homes drives a major home improvement programme forward.

Tristar Homes, which owns 10,000 homes, shops and garages across Stockton Borough, has launched a £140 million investment plan to upgrade its properties, improve the lives of residents, regenerate communities and invest in homes for future generations.

The modernisation scheme, which entails kitchen, bathroom, and heating system replacements and the installation of new windows and doors, is Tristar’s largest ever home improvement scheme and will generate contracts during the next five years.

Tristar, which is part of the Vela Group, has already held a contractor open day to inform companies about the work potential surrounding its investment plans.

Now, the plans to upgrade its properties are about to take another significant step forward with a series of workshops to enable contractors to learn more about the bidding and tendering processes.

The workshops will be held on Tuesday May 17, and June 8 and 14.

They will be delivered through Business Generator and will offer support and advice to businesses that may not have experience of tendering for larger contracts.

David Hill, Tristar’s Procurement Manager, said: “Tristar is determined its investments should benefit not only its tenants, but also the wider community.

“Supporting organisations to tender for contracts has substantial scope to safeguard and even create jobs in the North East.

“The Writing Winning Bids workshops, run by Business Generator, will help organisations such as small and medium-sized enterprises become acquainted with the procedures involved in making an application for contracts, such as Tristar’s modernisation project.”

Mr Hill added: “The Business Generator workshops will inform businesses about the opportunities available and expand their knowledge about buyer requirements, the tender process and compiling winning bids.”

The first series of Writing Winning Bids workshops take place at the Wynyard Rooms, Wynyard Business Park, and will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Dates include:

• Tuesday May 17
• Wednesday June 8
• Tuesday June 14
