MORE than £123m of business has been won by North East businesses thanks to help from a dedicated service, and there are more contracts available.
Compete North East helps the region’s businesses win public and private sector contracts, including those associated with London 2012 and the Commonwealth Games, and says there are still contracts to be awarded for the Olympic Games.

Lending a Helping Hand to Elderly Residents
ELDERLY residents in the east end of Newcastle now have access to a new handyman service after a local charity was awarded a £30,000 contract by Newcastle City Council.
Caring Hands, a charity supporting elderly people across Newcastle,attended Compete North East’s Policy Development workshop in December last year and attributes its successful contract application, in part, to the advice it received. Read more

Businesses are being given the opportunity to access up to a further £10 million worth of supply chain opportunities as Tristar Homes drives a major home improvement programme forward.
Tristar Homes, which owns 10,000 homes, shops and garages across Stockton Borough, has launched a £140 million investment plan to upgrade its properties, improve the lives of residents, regenerate communities and invest in homes for future generations.
